Edit
By unknown means, Cora comes into possession of the magic globe. After she and Hook arrive in Storybrooke, Cora gives the globe to Mr. Gold. She tells him it will help in the search for his son, Baelfire. In exchange, she wants the whereabouts of her daughter, Regina, which he agrees to give. That night, Mr. Gold pricks his finger and lets a drop of blood fall onto the globe. The presence of blood activates the globe's purpose in locating, in any part of the world, an existing person who shares a close genetic blood relation with him. The globe lights up at the location of New York as the current place Baelfire can be found. Mr. Gold persuades Emma to accompany and assist in the search in New York so she can finally fulfill her owed debt to him. To the shock of both, Baelfire is Neal, Emma's ex-boyfriend and the biological father of Henry; making all four parties interrelated by blood. ("In the Name of the Brother", "Tiny", "Manhattan")
Magic seekers Greg and Tamara stay in Storybrooke under fake premises and eventually threaten to expose the true magical nature of the town by stealing magic beans. When they discover a special trigger can be used to self-destruct Storybrooke and all the inhabitants, it is activated as a distraction for the townspeople to stop while their actual plan is put into motion. Emma and Regina combine powers to contain and permanently deactivate the trigger, but in the midst, Henry is kidnapped by Greg and Tamara. They use their last magic bean to open and jump into a portal to Neverland. Emma, Regina, David and Mary Margaret realize this too late, but there is hope in the only other magic bean still present in Hook's hands. He allows them to board his ship while Mr. Gold uses the magic globe once more. The globe shows Henry is now in Neverland and thus that is where they also must go. ("And Straight On 'Til Morning")
